In this artwork depicting an Angel resting in a wooded area, the artists main objective seems to have been to acquire an essence of serenity, peacefulness and calm. The angel rests at the foot of a tree with a serene expression and the distant woodland has a tranquil stillness reinforced by the slender verticals of the trees. The gnarled  roots of the foreground tree echoed in the angels twisted hair however, suggests that maybe a rest was in fact required.
